Astrid’s Wish for Papa Noël: A Haitian Christmas Story is a quest for the Christmas Spirit.  On the Island of La Gonâve, Haiti, a school girl named Astrid has a wish list like no other for Papa Noël, Santa Claus.  She has thought of everything that her farming village needs, except that Astrid doesn’t have a chimney to welcome Papa Noël and his reindeer like she has read about in her books.  Will Astrid’s wish list come true?  What will happen to her farming village on Christmas day?  Will Papa Noël, Santa Claus, visit La Gonâve?  If so, how will he arrive on the island, and what will he bring with him?
